Today quite frankly was a working off the couch kinda day. Over 700 brides and groom attended yesterday’s Waddesdon Manor’s ‘Inspiration day’ and between being the official photographer for the event, giving a talk and speaking to all the lovely people that stopped by our stand, I am enjoying a slightly more laid back day today. I thought it’d be a great idea to recap what I went through in the talk yesterday as their were some corresponding questions that came up time and again from B&G’s whilst speaking to them on the stand.

What you need to know when choosing a date for your wedding

There is more to choosing a date for your wedding than it would first appear. Naturally, with the school holidays, warmer weather and sun kissed skin, May through to September are undoubtedly the most popular months for having a wedding. For many it is a no brainer to have their wedding during the summer months but there are some things you should consider. So if you are wondering how to choose a date for your wedding, read on my darling for here are a few thoughts on the matter!

Planning our outdoor wedding has been a revelation and a rollercoaster – and I wanted to share with you some of the essential factors that need to be considered. From sun direction to mosquitoes and everything in between, this is what you need to know if you want an outdoor wedding! It also gives you a chance to learn from our mistakes (and gives me a perfect opportunity to show off part II of my Italian home tour – you can see part 1 here!)

This is relaxation. This is beauty. This is the bay of poets. This is Home.

Only recently have I started to fully appreciate the beauty of where I grew up. As I have grown and photography has taken me to far off places, I have began to see my home through the eyes of new friends I have made throughout the past few years that have either been, heard or witnessed the countless images that fill travel magazines, blogs, pinterest etc – (Americans in particular seem to have a deep love for Liguria and the Cinque Terre in particular).  This is Porto Venere, the meditation spot of Lord Byron (images above show Byron Bay). Up on the church you can climb to the roof and take in the serene view of the coastline, the bay, the port and the vast expanse of the Ligurian sea. It’s truly the most relaxing experience and my favourite place to visit when I return to Italy. If you go, do make sure to take a visit at night too, the moon shines on the bay and the warm air makes for a comfortable, romantic and peaceful outing. ( I have always thought it would be the perfect spot for a proposal/engagement/wedding!)

As winter revs up and you find yourself pulling up a blanket and embracing the feeling of your hands wrapt round a warm mug, this engagement session in Richmond Park, London will definitely have you praying for some glorious summer sun. I was truly blessed with lovely laid back couples in 2015. Calm and collected but serious about their photography, it was a dream to photograph them alongside the little dream team they had gathered. I really love to get to know my couples before they get in front of the camera. I like to see it not as work but just acquiring two new friends. Sometimes it’s as simple as a questionnaire to find out more about them, their interests, the relationship and other times I love getting together over some drinks or dinner with Krushi in tow.
